Speaker icon shows: "stop all sounds"???

Can someone please help me "turn all sounds on!" I have been trying to use the sound recorder but can't hear the recording. When I try to play the recording, an icon pops up next to the design mode icon, showing "stop all sound." I've attached a screenshot. Thanks!????

this doesn't mean that it stops the sounds playing. It is there so you can click on it to stop the sound if you don't have the controller up.

There must be another reason you can't hear the sound - either a problem with the volume or with the recording. Do other sounds work?

I have the same problem on one of my computers. I have searched and searched for an option to turn the "thing" off and can find no solution.

Thanks Louise. Now I understand the stop all sounds. I do still have a problem with the sounds though and yes I can hear other sounds. Sometimes when I try to insert the sounds, they have a red outline- which I have figured means they won't play. How do I get them to play or how do I get rid of the red outline? Thank for your help!

is the red outline a red square around the sound??
If so then this means you are in design mode & in turn this means that your actions won't run, so the sound won't play
try going to your main menu & see if there is a tick next to design mode, if so select it & try your sound again.

If I'm completely wrong then send me a screenshot of one your sounds with the red outine & I'll try again :)

I have a similar problem to that outlined aboved. I have checked that the Design View is unticked. Do you have any other solutions.
