broken activboard??

HI, i've been able to put my hands on a used activboard but when i received it i noticed a 2" long tear in the activboard, i think it happened during shipping. Anyone knows if i'll be able to make it works if there is that huge scratch in the board? Anyone been able to make it work even with some kind of damage?

Are you sure it is a Promethean board? If it is 'torn' then it may be something else?

Assuming it that the sensing wires are not cut or visible and it is a superficial scratch then there should be no reason it would not work. The sensing wires are beneath a layer that is essentially the same as a kitchen top surface - so should take considerable damage. Are you saying it is cut right through that layer?

If you have any concern at all though it may be worth getting it checked out before using it.

thanks Mark, yes it's a promethean board, and i can see daylight thru the tear... so i should assume it will not be working???

If you can see daylight through it - I'd be taking it up with whoever you got it off or the shipping company! Never heard of that level of danage before. I'd avoid using it too.
