3/4 minutes to load

Hello,
I have had to do a complete reinstall of windows xp on a teacher laptop. I have just installed ActivPrimary v3.latest. Now when I go to load the program I get a box that says 'please wait while windows configures activprimary'. This can go on for about 3 to 4 mins and then it will load.:eek:
Any ideas?

If you haven't done so already, I would make sure that this Xp laptop is updated with all the Microsoft patches and ensure you have Xp Service Pack 3 installed. I'd also ensure you've installed at least IE v8 and get the latest version of Flash Player from Adobe web site.

Another possible cause of the slowdown could be virus scanner software. This problem can be caused by the virus scanner agressively scanning the Primary settings file when Primary loads. In your virus software there should be a way of adding the file 'c:\documents and settings\your name\My Documents\Activprimary3\APSettings3.ini' to the file exclusions of the virus scanner. I've seen this work miracles to the performance of Primary on other systems.
