A teacher at my elementary school would like to create a flipchart page with containers that "Can Contain" a variable keyword.

She'd like it if student could drag any item to a container and then have the "Can Contain" parameter set dynamically depending on the first item dragged in. After the first item is dragged in, the container would then only accept additional items with that same keyword. (All items to be contained would already have the "Return if Not Contained" box checked.)

So with one container, if the student first dragged in a picture of a dog, and if its keywords contained "dog", only subsequent pictures with the keyword "dog" would be contained and everything else returned.

But if the student first dragged in a picture of a cat to that same container, and its keyword contained "cat", only subsequent pictures with the keyword "cat" would be contained.

Having both cat and dog selected as keywords ahead of time wouldn't work for what she wants because she wouldn't want the container to contain both a cat and a dog at the same time.

She'd like the dynamic setting of the keyword to take place automatically, without the teacher having to reset anything during the lesson. We might want to use this activity as an independent learning center with young students.

Is this possible? Or could it be in the future?

Thank you.

This is currently not possible, but is something which is worthy of consideration in future.

Another way to approach this would be to have the ready made containers positioned 'off page'. Then ask the student which object they are going to start with. If they respond 'cat', first drag the 'cat container' onto the page, then ask the student to proceed with the activity.

Attached is a flipchart with two containers (keyworded with cat and dog respectively) positioned off the top of the page with text tabs allowing you drag them down prior to the student dragging objects into them.

Am salivating at even the merest hint of a little bit of ActivActionScripting...
