I having trouble with the profiles in Inspire. I have created a profile with all the tools and shortcuts to external apps I need and save it as with a different name from the "built in" profiles.
What I want to do is to load this new profile into all the department's computers so we can all look at the same toolbar and any future modifications can be easily replicated.
When I load my profile in another computer, the tools don't get updated at all but the shortcuts to external apps do. To go around and replicate the toolbar on everybody's computer is very time consuming and this used to work on Studio.
Am I doing this wrong or is there a known bug in the profiles setup?

hi
no this should work. Can you post up the profile so I can see if anything obvious jumps out at me.
When the users select the profile does it keep their toolbox the same or change it incorrectly??

When they load the profile, the tools don't change, just the shortcuts to the Apps.
How can I send you the profile so you can have. Look?

either just zip it up & post it on here or send me a private message & I'll give you my email address that you can send it to.

Here it is.
This is giving me headache now. I cannot spend 10 minutes on everybodys computer just to replicate the toolbar. For some reason it did work when I took the profile and installed it in my netbook at home. Weird!!!
Thanks

Any news on this problem?

I have loaded your profile on my pc then it displays all the shortcuts fine. Whether it changes the tools or not depends on which profile I have on already. It appears to have the same tools as the authoring profile. Should there be other tools on there that aren't appearing - if so what are these?
thanks

That is exactly the problem I am having. The tools on that profile are completely different from the authorising profile so it should not look anything like it, it should be a mixture of tools which I find useful for mathematics.
It has the shape recognition and hand writing tools for example.

I am having this problem on most of my department computers. Today I run this profile on one and it did update all the tools as well as the shorcuts but it won't work on most of the others.
The interesting thing is that all of the computers in my department have been build using a hard drive ghost image which had inspire installed so they are near identical.

that is very odd. I'll get the issue raised so we can take a look.
can you confirm which OS you created the profile on, though that shouldn't make any difference.
