USING ACTIVE INSPIRE on a MacBook Pro using 10.6 - Check out my attachment. The word
"student" has the X and the | and the tiny white circle icon by it and I want it to go away. This shows up during presentation mode.

How do I turn off the tool bar on a piece of text that I am dragging from one area on my flip-chart to another during presentation mode.

This is the simple flipchart pull the text word out of a hat. I'm doing a word sort for 3rd graders.

I've tried turning off marquee handles.
I can do that and the little icons disappear.... however, I still get an icon that looks like an "x" and
my text looks like it is allowing me to change it with a solid black bar at end of it.

I have create a "At the Board" profile. I turned off all marquee icons, etc.
Yes, that works, but still I'm allowed to edit the text. See attached screen shot of
what I see by the text item.
I have also made in the properties of the text "No" to Resize.

Check out the attachment. See the icons by the word "student"???
that is what I'm trying to get rid of during Presentation mode.

It just pops up unexpectedly and the students find it annoying to click it off.

I've looked at other suggestions on this forum. I'm hoping that someone can tell me something new to try.

Thanks!

the only way I can get my text to look like that when I've set up my system to be the same as yours is to put the text into edit mode. If I just click once on the text to move it then I don't see these things.
Do you think its possible that students are accidentally double clicking on the text? The pens can take a bit of practice.
They need to put the pen down on the text & move it without moving away from the text & going back again. Try doing it yourself & also trying it at the machine using a mouse & you might be able to see the difference.

Thank you for responding.

I have been a Software Engineer in my past life for 14 years. I know that software can
be changed and I hope that Inspire folks can make an option to turn it ALL off.

It is ridiculous to think that Kindergartners, 1st Graders, etc.... need practice using the pen
in order to make up for a weakness in the software.

You don't put a system weakness back on the user. That is poor business.

Please ActiveInspire programmers, please give us the option to turn off all "edit" features
if we need to.

A presentation should be seamless. No unexpected pop-ups unless we, the developer, put
them in ourselves. Thanks!
