View Full Version : Creating objects - automatically grouped

Quite often when I create an object (a rectangle, line etc.) I select it, and it has been automatically grouped with something else. I haven't noticed a reason for this (such as that I had another object selected when I picked up the tool). Has anyone else come across this? Is it a bug or something I'm doing?
I know that I can ungroup the objects and then carry on, but it doesn't seem right.

Hi GEC,

The only thing I think could be happening is this. Within your settings is an option to automatically group annotations. If you have this ticked then anything you annotate ie. draw/write will be grouped together if they are either in close proximity/and/or were created close to each other.

Sounds as though you are on the latest version of the software so I am pretty sure this is the case.

Go to Studio settings and I think it is flipchart objects and one of the options is automatic group annotation.

If it isn't this, then I can't help you

btw the reason for this option is so that a handwritten word, for example, can be moved without selecting it all first [clap]

That sounds like the solution.
Thanks a lot.
