Since receiving a new computer this school year, I have not been able to get my Activboard working. I downloaded and installed ActivStudio 3.6, which works on my computer. I also downloaded and installed the newest driver I could find (one that supposedly works with Leopard). I know that the driver is up and running because every other Activboard driver I have found and tried to install won't because it says I already have a current or newer driver. My board is powered and connected, but still will not respond to input. I even had another teacher with an Activboard (that works) bring up her computer and her cables. After hooking up her computer to my Activboard, it still didn't work. At this point, I am afraid that my board is dead. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Joel

Try disconnecting from the power first to restart the board.
Have you checked your connection on the back of the board? We've had problems with connections sometimes. You might need to disconnect it in the back and plug in the connection again.

I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the power both when it was on my computer and when I was testing with another teacher's computer. I also reconnected the device cable and checked to see that it was securely engaged. But, thank you for the suggestions.

Does your board give an audible chime when you power it off and then power it up?

Trace the USB cable that comes out the USB slot in the back of the board. Sometimes that usb cable goes to an USB extender box and then another cable from the USB extender box comes to your laptop.
Try to bypass the usb extender box if you have one.
Or just try a new usb cable and connect on end to the board electronics slot and the other end directly to the usb port of your laptop. See if that makes a difference. If not call tech support.

Yes. I do hear a "chime" when the board powers up.

I did try running the board with another teacher's computer and cable, but no luck.
