Hi,

I'm interested in using animated backgrounds in some of my flipcharts, but I can't seem to be able to add anything over the top of them. I've looked at a number of other threads that recommend changing the file type etc. Another thread mentioned changing force overlay in the properties menu to false would allow me to work over the background. Unfortunately I can’t seem to get it working - any help would be greatly appreciated. Have attached a flipchart with the background in question, it’s a sample from animationfactory.com.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom,
This is something I have seen before with video files from the animation factory.
Please see attached flipchart. The resolution is slightly degraded from what you originally had, but now you can annotate over it.

See if you can convert the .mov to .flv and insert that file. It could be that you can do this with .flv's.

Thanks, are there any decent free mov to flv converters available? All I can seem to find are free trials of programs that cost quite a bit...Tom

Hi Tom,
This is completely free and no software to download:

I too have had trouble with using animation factory video backgrounds in Inspire. After this post, I'm STILL having trouble. Here are the steps I went through:

1. Downloaded wmv file from animation factory
2. Converted file to flv using zamzar
3. Insert-media-selected file
4. In browsers, I selected force overlay, selected loop, selected false for viewing controls,
put the video on the bottom layer
5. Added text
6. Got frustrated because the text is STILL behind it!
7. Moved the text to the top layer (just in case!)
8. Remained frustrated because it's still behind the video, AND it won't loop, AND the controls are still visible!

Help!

Kathy

P.S. I am running the latest version of Inspire
