View Full Version : ActivSlate Hub not recognized

I am a Technology Resource Teacher in MD. One of my teachers just received a brand new slate and the hub is not recognized by the computer when he plugs it in - error message appears that says, "Trouble with this hardware. Not recognized." and the hub will have a solid red slight only inside of it. However, he has a personal laptop and when he connects the hub to that it's fine. The computer has a pop-up that says, "new hardware found" and the hub blinks green and works great. He has the first version of ActivInspire (not the recent upgrade) since the county has not pushed out this version to all computers yet and he is unable to do so on his work computer. Any ideas to get the computer to recognize the hub?

Sounds like he really needs to upgrade for everything to work properly.:(

No one in his school (or the county) has upgraded yet and all of the slates work fine, except for his. I don't have upgraded software either, and it works fine on my machine. ???? So there has to be something else I'm missing. :confused:

Hi

This sounds driver related. The red light usually means the PC has not recognised, most often caused by a missing driver.

If the driver is installed, if you could tell which version it might help us further diagnose your problem. The drivers are available under the support option from Promethean planet. The activhub should be listed under the hardware section and provide the most recent driver
