I added activmarker to my toolbar in Inspire a few weeks ago and it has been working fine. The last week or so when I demo activmarker in Professional Development sessions, the pen and highlighter will not embed over the word document, but instead insert itself as another object on the page which then pushes all of the words to the side of the pen or highlighter. Has anyone else seen this? Am I doing something wrong? How can I fix this?:(

Hi,
I am not sure what you mean.
But I was able to add activmarker as a shortcut to my Inspire toolbar and annotate successfully on a word document.
I think what may be happening that once you are in desktop annotation mode, you need to select the word document. Then you should see the special toolbar for Activmarker. The Activmarker toolbar is independent of Inspire toolbar. All annotations and color picking has to be done from the Activmarker toolbar on Microsoft Office documents. Sometimes the activmarker toolbar may be hidden under the Inspire toolbar.

On another note, you can launch Activmarker independently without launching Inspire or Activstudio.

I did everything that you outlined above. This is how I have used it successfully for over a month. However, now when I follow the exact same directions above, the ink and highlighter from the ActivMarker toolbar do not write OVER the text, but is inserted as a separate object and pushes all of my words out of the way.

Do you mean that the actual words in the Word document are pushed out of the way when the Marker annotations are commited to the document?

Can you provide a screen shot of what is happening?

This is a complete gues,s but perhaps there is something in Word that allows text to wrap around shapes (which is how the annotations are being added) and this option may somehow have become set?

What version of Word are you using?
