I called tech support and they said there currently no default way to do this. Hopefully this is something that can be created. Interwrite software has this feature as does Polyvision's Webster.

Issue 1:
I give classroom notes by writing over pdf files filling in blanks and annotating diagrams. When working with PDF's, they essentially are the background, is there a way that when working in Inspire, you can capture the background and penstrokes automatically when the first pen stroke is created. Basicly, as the first mark is made, the program automatically snapshots the background (pdf) as well as the penstroke. THis would allow all notes/marks to be safed and reviewed with the proper background (pdf).

Currently, I have to capture each page individually, before I teach class. This is just extra steps. One would need to capture page, to new page, then resize since the capture is always a little smaller than window. It takes time, especially if I am doing many pages of notes and daily. I basicly requires me to make captures or scans I already created, which is doing essentially the same thing twice - making 2 digital copies of the pages.

In conclusion, can there be a setting which would allow auto caputure, as new page, of page (pdf, webpage, etc asbackground) along with the annotations placed over it, and allow this to be scrolled back to to review later, where the annotations are still visible over the background, without having to pre-caputer each and every page.

Issue 2:
Can the Desktop always be floating on top of page. Currently, when I navigate to a new page (pdf, webpage, etc) the desktop always hides. Can there be a setting to keep it "always on top" no matter what program windows you bring up. And then allow the autocaptuer (Issue 1 above) to that one can continuously work between programs.

Why don't you just import the pdf into ActivInspire. Then all of the tools would work on this page and you wouldn't have to take screenshots.

This is a new feature in version 1.2 and it is quite quick to so. It can import in just a second or two multiple page pdf documents.

Thank you for the idea. I did import pdf, however, it does not solve the problem. I still do not have my writting (annotation) staying with the background. For example, if I write overtop page one, and go to page 2, the markup (annotation) does not stay with page 1 so I could go back and show it again if I needed to review if for a student. Importing still has the problem of the annotating not staying with the background. When I scroll the page, the annotation stays put, and defeats the purpose of completing fill-in notes, and worksheets.

I would like to write on page 1, have it stay with page 1. Move to page 2, have it start clean w/o annotations. Write on page 2, and so on. Then, if I needed to show page 1 again, I could scroll back to it with the its annotations still with it. That is why an immediate/auto capture when starting annotation would be best.

Thanks for the help, hopefully more will come.

That's weird because when I import a pdf into a flipchart, the annotations and writings I make stay where I write or put them when I move from page to page or scroll up or down the page assuming the page is tall.

This flipchart: Your First Job includes many pages that originated from PDF's.

Are you linking to the PDF or importing it?

I imported it, then made its size "fit to width"

When I scrolled, the annotations stayed, and the pdf background scrolled under it, where I would have page 2 visible behind annotations from page 1.

Hmm. Trying to recreate this.

I imported a fresh pdf (eight pages each on its own page.)
On page one, I make it fit to width.
I annotated on it using the pen tool
I moved the scroll bar to move it down.
The annotation stayed where I had originally written on the page.

See screenshots.

Thanks. I just shut it all down for the day. I will try tomorrow.

I was scrolling page by clicking on the pointer and moving page up. however, that may have been moving background up, and not truely scrolling page. I see that I need to click forward arrow to move to next page, and cannot just move page with hand as I do within a PDF.

Thanks for your help.

Any advice on keeping annotations above windows of other programs, suck as annimations on webpages, etc.

Thanks again.
