Appearance Properties

Can anyone tell me how to change the appearance of a line? Context Help says that in Appearance Properties I should have such things as Begin Style/End Style, Pen Type, Line Style, etc., but none of these are present. I am using version 2.0 version 307.

Dare I say that it is easy to do on SMART! One of our teachers has been to a SMART training day and come back saying that it is easier to use!!!

Hi

If you right click on the pen tool a box will come up and display different pen options

Thanks for the quick reply Daniel, but I don't think this answers my question. I know that I can choose arcs, squares, circles etc., but how do I add arrowheads to both ends of a line, or change the line to a dotted line?

These options are available for line objects and not annotation objects
If you go to the resource library and go the shared lines folder, drag a line onto the page. Now double click on the line and open up properties.
The appearance tab has all the options you mention above.

That's cheating! But seriously, can I suggest it as an improvement on the next upgrade. Like Isay, I think that it is in the help file, and is something that a package such as ths ought to offer.

I did some dotted lines some time ago - they're not perfect, but they may serve until something better comes along. Attached here. You can save them into your annotations library or put them onto your tool tray.

Just found this thread, after getting annoyed with lack of dotted lines!

There is always the option of creating the line you want in MS word then dragging it over.

Maybe dotted lines and those properties could be added to the straight line toolbox???

As a matter of interest, has any more thought been given to the dotted line problem? I draw economics graphs and need dotted lines to show points on a graph. I know about the work-arounds, but would also like the funcionality to be built in as a line property.

yes, i think in the coming version they have to add some tools for Business field, we are using it for business and you may consider engineer's need also

so, are we expecting ACTIVstudio Business Edition (BE)
