Hi!

I've been using Smartboard's Notebook software and am now trying to figure out how to do some of the things I'm used to with the Inspire software - hoping some of you can help!

In Notebook, objects can have animations like they might in Powerpoint. I'm used to setting an object (text or media) to "fade in", which mean's its hidden until I click it, then it fades in and becomes visible. The windowshade won't work for this as it's stuff hidden randomly about the board - annotations etc. I did see the magic ink function, but that's not a single click option and I want to be able to just touch a spot and go.

Also, when making Expressions questions in a flipchart, is there a way to have it show the answer on the board after the question timer is up? The catch is I want to show a detailed solution (math problem) not just the numerical answer.

Thanks for any tips!

Welcome to ActivInspire!

There are so many ways to make something reveal itself in ActivInpire! Let me count the ways!

1) You can give one object the action to reveal itself or reveal another object.
2) You can pull it out of a magic box!
3) You can put it behind an object and make that object have the action to hide when clicked to reveal what's behind.
4) If it is a word in a text box, you can make the word "hidden" by giving it the same color as the background, then reveal it by using the paint bucket to give it a different color.

I'm sure there's other ways.

Now, how to do all that, you might ask? I'd look at the Activtips videos here:
http://www.prometheanplanet.com/server.php?show=nav.1147

Look for Activtips called:

Magic Paint Bucket
Hidden Text
Object Browser
Groups and Pulleys

They should give you some concrete examples of making your flipcharts more interactive. Don't forget you can even Import Smart Notebook files! That should make the transition go very quickly for you!
