Renaming ActivExpressions

I understand and have successfully done this for many of my staff, however we all have one stubborn expression that will not rename. Example, I named all of mine a-1, a-2, etc... when I get to my 31st of 32 it is named a-31. The last one though has assumed the name a123 and will not rename. I have removed it, taken out the batteries and done everything else under the sun with no luck. This is happening in all 50 class rooms that we are registering expressions. There is always one that doesn't want to rename.

This problem has been in Inspire since the beginning - it is always the last device which will not rename...

The easy work around for this problem is to re-register the Expressions device with more devices than you are actually going to register (i.e. if you want to register 32 device, tell it you are going to register 35 - then hit the done/finish button after 32 devices are registered) - you will then be able to rename all the devices. If my memory is right, you can unregister the one device and then re-register 2, but terminate after one. Then you should be able to rename.

It is not the device, it is the software.

what version is this happening on for you? Is it still a problem in 1.1 or 1.2??

We are having a similar problem. On one computer we were able to reinstall and get the numbers we want by adding one at a time (most teachers have used sharpie and written the number on the activ votes). However, it won't work on anyone else's computer! Please help! I would like to keep the voter that I have labeled 1, as 1. How do I make this happen!?! We have a very frustrated staff!:mad:
