Network Shared Resources and USB Cables.

We have recently purchased Activboards and have had version 1.1 of the software installed on the 9 machines around the science faculty. Unfortunately it seems that when we import shared resources they are only shared on that machine, have we done something wrong in the installation or is that the way it is meant to work?

Secondly is there a maximum length of USB cable that should be used with the boards. We seem to be getting problems with the boards that apparently we can't have tech support with as some of the cables are 5m runs from the wall box.

Our IT department have been able to solve the first problem, and indeed they had installed it incorrectly. I am still concerned about the second problem with the USB cables as our boards are not always connecting.

Some suggestions :

Upgrade to latest driver.

Uncheck the box for USB root hub power management "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

We have the latest driver installed, as we have only just installed it.

I'll try the USB root hub trick.
