I just noticed another item that needs to be changed to conform to Macintosh applications. This is saving a page in activinspire. Generally, in all applications written for Macintosh the save short cut is Command-S. So, what do we see in ActivInspire? A SHIFT Command-S. Why in the world would anyone create a short cut such as this. The same goes for deleting an object by using the fn-delete key. It is difficult enough to learn a new app but when you are used to certain techniques and EXPECT the same basic techniques to be followed, then it makes it frustrating and difficult. Do you realize how many teachers and students when using mac applications do a COMMAND-S for quick saving? I would love to hear the logic of this key combination for saving quickly. Even Microsoft office for Mac uses the COMMAND-S for quick saving!
I am trying to picture the programmers writing the code for this: "Let's see what key combination should we make for saving a file?" "Well since most apps have command-s, let's try something new.. how about shift command S?" "Maybe we should ask someone who uses a Mac and see how they feel about this." "No, they need to change how they do things. We need to confuse them!"
I really like acitvinspire, but there are some tweaks that need to be made to bring it in align with what Mac users are used to.
