I need to make ActivInspire the default program for my Mac Book Pro. Once I upgraded to 1.2 it defaults to my ActivExpression software that I used with ActivStudio. If I have to delete Studio and the Expression component, how do I do this?????

Do you mean when you double click on a flipchart, it doesn't automatically open with ActivInspire?

Yes! Even when I create a flipchart in Inspire, and save it in Inspire and quit...when I return it opens up in the ActivExpression application. Now that I have Inspire, I do not need Studio or the Expression application, but I cannot seem to delete it. How do I make Inspire my default?

Ok, find in your "finder" a flipchart (icon) and command click on it to "get information." (or select it and go to File "Get Info") There should be an option under "open with" with a drop down of possible applications for that type of file. Select ActivInspire. If it's not in the drop down, you can navigate to it.

Then click "Change all" and this will apply to ALL files with that extention.

See screenshot.

My co-worker, who is on a Windows machine, is having the same issue. How do you make a filetype default to open with a certain application on a PC?

Locate any flipchart on the desktop.
Right click > Open with > Choose Default program >
Browse > Activ Software > Inspire > Inspire.exe > Open

Make sure to check the box, Always use the selected program to open this kind of file.

It is also possible (and perhaps slightly easier..) to do this through 'Restore File Associations' within the Inspire Settings - look at the bottom of the Edit Profiles dialog box.
