Sluggish Pen

I created several Inspire flipcharts over the summer but when I used them on my board, the pen was slow. I would want to drag an image and there was an extreme delay. The marquee tool would move ahead and the image would follow many seconds later and would land beyond the spot intended. What's going on?

Hi,

I have spent countless hours trying to solve this problem. Finally, I had a thought to "turn off handwriting recognition" and my images moved smoothly across my activboard with my pen. You can turn it off by going into your "System Preferences>activboard>handwriting recognition>ink preferences.

I second what hatch2 has reported as this sluggish issue has plagued 3 of the teachers that I work with as well. Turning off handwriting recognition worked in ALL 3 cases.

While I am not a developer or engineer for Promethean, I have heard that the next release (1.3) will have improved annotation rendering and should streamline some of these issues for us.

You should try version 1.3. Optimisations have been added to the graphics engine which will hopefully address your issue.

I have sluggish issues with my eraser. It is not as bad when I annotate over desktop but it is extremely slow and drags on forever in activinspire flipcharts.
Also--where in the heck is the trash can when it disappears and how do you get it back on your screen???

Have you tried v1.3 yet?

The trashcan (or Flipchart Bin) can be toggled on and off in the View Menu.
