Hello all,

I am trying to have a text box make another object "appear" ... I can't seem to find the 'show' function in actions? Can someone help me please?

Thank you in advance,

jeannie

Hi Jeannie,
What you have to do is click on the text and bring up the object edit browser. Click on that, then click on action browser. Scroll down until you see the word hidden (it looks like an eye with a red X on it). Click on that, then it will ask what you want hidden (target). Click on the little box with the 3 ...then click on the object you want to appear/disappear. Finally, click on "apply changes." Your text should now have an action assigned to it (blue arrow). Click on it so that the image disappears, then click save. That way when you open your flipchart, the object won't already be visible. I hope that helped!:-/

Thank you for the quick guidance on actions. I had racked my brain for two hours trying to remember how to do that very thing, and I couldn't find the video on Planet that shows it. I really should have just searched the forums first..........

OK, now that we know how to have one action performed on another object, can you have multiple actions occur?

For instance:
I'm trying to create a calendar math flipchart that will allow the child to select the month from the "Month List" which is displayed in a vertical column. When the student selects that month, I want the month to appear in the "month box" above the regular calendar (and ideally I would like for the correct days to appear--but that's another post).

However, let's say the student selects the wrong month. When they select the correct month, I have all the objects with actions of "To top layer." Will I also need to program the incorrect month "To Bottom Layer?"
