slate needs to be reactivated daily

Hi!

I have an Activslate that worked flawlessly for two school years. This August I upgraded the driver to the latest one and have some dodgy performance, but the most annoying is my slate now needs to be reactivated at least once every day I use it. I'm on a MacBook, OS 10.5.8, using AS 3.6 build 117. I have no hub. My voters work fine.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem. I am using Inspire now and it takes even longer to register and unregister my slate. What I did in studio was to put the slate tool on my toolbar and have to click it every time I wanted to use my slate. GGRRRRRR!!!! I hope this gets fixed soon.

I guess that is another reason I have not moved over to Inspire.

Question: Why do you UNregister your slate? Up until this year I just grabbed my slate and used it whenever I wanted after registering it once the year I got the board. Not sure why (guessing the driver update) this has happened, but this is not the "progress" I enjoy coming from updates.

What type of slate are you using; Is it a 2.4ghz or a legacy ActivslateXR?

I am not sure. How do tell? This slate is about 3 years old.

If it requires a "hub" (looks like a USB flash drive), it would not be an ActivSlate XR.

Exactly the same problem that I am having. Worked great for 2-3 years but since the Mac OS update to 10.5.8, the slate has the same problem. I have even tried ActivInspire but the same things happens :-(
