Is it possible to change the transparency of backgrounds in 1.2? I want to use some of the beautiful patterned backgrounds, but would like to change the transparency of them.
Thanks in advance.

I'm sure there is an easier way, but here is something I tried. I'm not sure this is what you're after, but once you select a background, then select the shape tool/rectangle. Size the rectangle to cover the background. Change the fill color to white (and the outline), then change the transparency to suit your liking. :)

That's what I would typically do as well.
Another thing to try is to use the camera tool to take a snapshot. Then you could do whatever you want with it.

If you want to make these backgrounds transparent on a regular basis, then follow pmcgonagle's suggestion. Then, drag the rectangle to the third column of your toolbar. Now you can pop it on top of any coloured background to get the opaque look. :)
