Thanks. Clicking on the menu icon on the revealer (top right) no longer gives the option to close it though. This is a useful option.

To close the revealer, simply click on the revealer tool in Inspire toolbar again.

A strange thing happened when I downloaded the patch....

I have a lesson plan flipchart where I grab other flipcharts out of the resource library and put them on a page. It makes a teeny little image of the first page of the flipchart. Since I downloaded the patch it is putting a white box with a red X through it instead of the picture. The embedded flipchart will still open but the picture went away. Strangely enough, in the page browser you can still see the picture! I turned my computer off and on and it made no difference.

Hi.

The red cross usually appears when it cannot find the original image (protection to make sure user can still use the remainder of the flipchart). This may have been somehow lost during a previous save. You will have to insert that image again, but the red cross situation means that you can continue to use the rest of the flipchart. The thumbnail will update once you either delete the red cross or replace the image.

In several flipcharts every text box has shrunk and changed to a font I've never heard of. Am I going to have to go thru every lesson and check the font? Did a font get removed from Inspire in this update? The flipcharts looked fine before the update.

I noticed this with some of my flipcharts as well. Once the flipchart is open, before you make any changes to the page, click page reset. I found this was fixing my problem Hope you have the same luck! [clap]

Ok, here is something even weirder....

If I open an affected flipchart from my flipcharts, the reset doesn't help. If I open the version embedded in my lesson plans, reset does work.

The one with the strange number is the one from the lesson plans.

If I reset and then turn the page, it is back to the wrong font.

One thing that I've noticed in some flipcharts created in Studio and opened in Inspire, the images all have the black transparent box behind them. How do I fix that?

In addition to my weird text-changing problem, in the flipchart I used yesterday I had a problem where on a few pages I would turn the page and the objects would appear but the background was the wrong background. I hit reset and the correct background appeared. The kids thought that I was doing something magical and I just kept right on with the "I meant to do that" face on, but I was a bit freaked out! :cool:

This may not comfort you, but I have had very similar experiences and I reported them to Tech Support as well. I had pages were I would be using the student responders, and all of a sudden - half of my page turned to a bright blue in the background...? :eek: I also can not use the FILL tool effectively on text anymore. It will take sometimes 1 word, sometimes 3, sometimes 2 words... but I can no longer select one word at a time. :confused: I was told to e-mail the flipchart having the problem to Tech Support, but I think what I will do is create a new one (just a couple pages) in 1.2 and see if it also does the weird stuff. Then I'll know if it is a software issue or what. However, my flipchart I know is not "corrupt" because the fonts previously were Arial Black, and now they are really goofy on some pages - but not all. :confused:

I'm sure it will all get worked out soon - just a little awkward for a few of us having these problems in the meantime. Apparently we are some of the only ones with the font issue and background issue. I wonder what we did different from the rest who downloaded the software update?

is this happening since the 1.2 upgrade or always happened?
You need to go into property browser, go to miscellaneous settings & change the transparency colour.

When I set an image to hidden for a set of grouped objects, it doesn't show the group in the target. I know I could use the camera and take a picture of the group, but is there anyway to change the target so that it shows grouped objects? Also, in the object browser, it would be helpful.

The black box only appears under objects in 1.2. It wasn't originally set up that way or appeared in other versions.

Yeah! Thank you for the Page Reset. You saved me from loosing a lot of hair!

Many teachers are experiencing problems such as:
They will have a flipchart open and be working, try to turn the page and they get an error message that says something like: An error has occured - this page cannot be loaded - a blank page will be inserted.

This is causing a major problem. I have had 3 teachers loose their work they did with their students because they saved it and then when they opened it later to reflect upon they got this message and all of the students work had been lost.

HELP!????

I've tried your file here Holli using the same version but i'm not seeing the problem appear, could there be other steps that you are carrying out beforehand that are causing the problem to appear? Can you try opening the file after a restart and see if the problem still occurs when you just scroll through the pages?

Since upgrading to 1.2, I've had crashes using Mac OS 10.4.11. Others are listing the same problems on the forums. The program will crash. When I restart, I'll get the original "What look and feel" message/choice on how I want Activinpire to appear. Also, my customized tool pallet reverts to original default. 3-4 major crashes a day.

Saha suggested firmware updates to hub and expressions. I think it's software related (to the 1.2 upgrade). Is there any chance they are looking into this? A patch coming out soon for Mac?
