I want to upgrade to 1.2 but haven't upgraded to 1.1. What steps/procedures should I follow?

Hi

You should be able to upgrade directly to 1.2. On the Dashboard there is a configure option which includes a check for updates.

This will download a copy of the 1.2 applciation which you can then use to update your copy

hope this helps

Thank you John. Somewhere I thought I heard, was told, or read that I needed to have updated to 1.1 before going to 1.2. I will give it a try on Monday. [clap]

John,
I was able to upgrade from 1.0 to 1.2 (latest update as of today). I can look at the version in the help file and it is the latest. The difficulty is when I went to search in the resource browser it prompted me to index. I clicked yes and then it seems to hang. Tried it several times and haven't been successful. I have upgraded on three other computers and didn't have any difficulty. The only difference between the computers is this last one went from 1.0 to 1.2 where the other three all went from 1.1 to 1.2. Any suggestions?

I have also been unable to re index the resources in the new 1.2 version. I also went from 1.0 to 1.2. Any suggestions?

Try Nigel's suggestion:

This may be due to an incomplete index from a previous attempt.

The actual index file is here...

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Promethean\ActivInspire\Promethean_resource_d ata.db

Try deleting this file, then start the re-index process in ActivInspire and leave it it to work.

Be patient, the program may look like it has frozen but it hasn't. After a while (maybe 10-15 minutes) you should have a working resource search.
