View Full Version : Major problems with Inspire

I have Inspire on my home computer and school computer and they are both having major different crashing issues as I nervously watch the clock tick down to the first day of school.

On one computer, Inspire kept randomly crashing. I then did the update to 1.2, hoping that would take care of the problem, but now Inspire crashes every time I try to save a chart. The chart is not saved and I've lost a lot of work already.

On the other computer, there are various problems. On one chart, every time I try to delete a page, Inspire crashes. Another chart opens with no problem on the first computer but crashes Inspire every time I try to open it on this computer. I haven't done the update on this one yet because of unrelated connectivity problems, plus I'm afraid that I'll lose whatever functionality I have.

It also seems very strange that I wasn't having these problems last spring. Why would this be suddenly happening?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, yeah, in case it matters, one computer is running Vista, the other is XP.

Update--Now, on the chart that will only open on one computer, every time I try to move from one page to another it crashes.

Hmm, this is becoming surreal, maybe I'm dreaming this and I'll wake up and it will all run as smoothly as it did last year....

Hi!

Any chance you can upload the flipchart? I will try it on the setups here

regards

John

Sure, here is a 3-page flipchart. When I open it, the first page is completely black, even though in the page browser there is some text. The 3rd page is blank, but when I try to delete it, the program crashes. And, just trying to advance from one page to the next causes the program to crash.

Thanks for your interest!

For what it's worth, I had the same results looking at your flipchart.

That's interesting. So it seems like the problem is in the charts themselves. Well, I'm taking the plunge and uninstalling and reinstalling the program. I'll let you know if that helps.

Thanks again.

I was able to open your flipchart, but the program crashed for me when I clicked on page two in the browser.

Well, I removed and re-installed Inspire and it seems to be running better. I'm rebuilding all of the flipcharts that were giving me trouble since it seems that they are themselves corrupted. A full day's extra work, but so far, so good. Now I'm having another strange issue (see the Tools Off! thread). Thanks for all your input!
