When I upgraded to 1.2, I also upgraded my driver to 5.1.2.7 and now my Activmanager can't see my ActivHub:confused:

Any ideas?

Hi

Was the hub connected at the time of the upgrade? First and foremost is always a reboot, just to see if its a hiccup!

Also, which OS ( Windows or Mac ? )

Would also suggest swapping the usb port.

The hub was not connected at the time of the upgrade. I am on Wondows XP 32, and I did reboot my computer to no avail.????

I am having this same problem, rebooted to no avail. Also, my hub was plugged in. Now it is not picking it up at all.

Reinstalled the new Activdriver...working like a champ. Something was corrupt.

Thats great news. Alickina have you tried a full reinstallation ( removing the old installations first )?

While trying to update the Expressions kernel and firmware, I noticed the following situation - I suspect it is a driver problem. Am running on a Mac with latest Activdriver 5.2.7.

It looks like after a restart of the Mac, the first user who recognizes an Activhub is the ONLY user who can use the Hub.

To reproduce the situation:
1. restart the computer
2. log in as administrator
3. plug in the Hub, wait and look at the Activmgr Control Panel - notice the Hub is recognized
4. unplug the Hub
5. log out the administrator without restarting the computer
6. log in as a user without administrator privileges
7. plug in the Hub, wait, then look at the Activmgr Control Panel - notice the Hub never becomes visible
8. unplug the Hub, log out non-privileged user without restarting
9. log in as administrator
10. plug in the hub and notice the hub becomes visible

If you reverse the order and recognize the Hub with the non-admin user first after the restart, then the administrator (or any other user) cannot recognize the Hub.

Now that we understand this situation, we can work around it.

A problem would occur if a single computer is to support 2 different users who need to use a Hub - a restart (not just logout/login) is required between users.

I am wondering if this might be part of the problem I am having! I upgraded the driver, then the hub, then the activexpressions for self-paced (one of the primary reasons that I upgraded to the newer version of Inspire).

I had to run install everything through the administrator - no choice, we can't install through our logins.

When I logged into computer this morning, my computer wouldn't calibrate, couldn't find the activdriver. However, when I plugged in the hub, it would calibrate - THE SLATE...

so I tried to reinstall the driver (it says it is installing, but I can't find it on my computer), the hub was attached at the time. Now I don't see the hub OR the activdriver!!!

I currently can't use my board at all and I am quite frustrated since this is only the 2nd day of school and I already updated my first powerpoint to a flipchart that I wanted to use.

Any suggestions on what to do? I may have to get my computer completely reimaged to get it back to lower version (which I don't know how that will affect my expressions) just to try to be able to use my activboard. I really don't want to do this.

I just posted this on another thread - I would NOT revert to an old driver - use the latest 5.2.7 (Mac).

This fixes the recognizing the hub problem - maybe it will fix the board problem too (I will verify when I get access to a board).

Try
1. unplugging the USB cable from the board to the computer
2. restart the computer and login as you
3. power cycle the board (unplug the power cord, count to 10, plug the power cord)
4. after both the computer and board are fully up and working, then attach the USB cable
5. start the Activmgr application to make sure the board is recognized
6. if connected, calibrate and go.

Hopefully, this should work for you.

Thanks! I have PC instead of MAC, but I am hoping problem is similar enough to fix!!!
